Information

The park currently has a historic building that houses modern washrooms and office space. Services are nearby but fire protection and various safety precautions must be met.

Talent will need to be consulted on the actual engineering involved in creating a well drained park area as well as designs of gardens and public services.

A national and international media campaign will be launched in cooperation with the local DMO, the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Simcoe County.

Currently Keewatin is promoted through travel shows in Europe, the US and Asia.

We also envision a mobile presentation that can be used in schools and public meetings, much as we do now on the story of the return of Keewatin.

Finally we want to offer our facility to every Historical Society in Canada to visit and hold a meeting in our facility and we will supply guest speakers in both official languages on all subject areas pertaining to "The Gateway that built Western Canada". A great untold story.

A television documentary produced by John Fulford-Brown that chronicles the immense challenges invloved in preparing the Keewatin for her voyage across two Great Lakes, culminating in her triumphant return home to Port McNicoll on June 23rd 2012, is currently being aired on CBC Documentary Channel.
